Opened in April 1990 by local business man Henry Dow, Dows Bar has recently celebrated its 14th anniversary. The business was sold in 1995 to the multi-national chain “Bass” and remained under their ownership for 7 years until April 2002 when the business changed hands again into the ownership of current proprietor Mike Dignan.
Mike has been an integral part of Dows since its opening in 1993, where he, as manager, along with many dedicated and committed staff, have striven to build and cement the success of the Bar and Restaurant.
Dows, being conveniently located in the Hilton area of the city and just three minutes drive from the A9, is the ideal location for meeting up with family or friends as it is easy to find, with ample car and coach parking, with good disabled access.
A popular community facility, Dows boasts a recently refurbished Sports Bar, Lounge Bar, Non Smoking Conservatory Restaurant and a Conference/Business Suite on the first floor.
The Sports Bar shows back to back sport on its 3 televisions plus large screen on a daily basis. Very popular with groups meeting up for a social night out. Catering is available in this bar also.
The Restaurant/Lounge offers a wide variety of menus to suit all tastes, the dining is very relaxed with a family atmosphere.
The Business Suite on the first floor offers excellent facilities for up to 40 persons, it is suitable for seminars, business meetings, training sessions etc, all the usual audio visual equipment is available.
